We use the highest quality materials to ensure longevity

Bouldering walls
We see many out of use pieces of play equipment/ climbing walls that are out of use due to the selection of incorrect materials. This image is of a climbing wall mural in Sunderland which we installed 5 years ago.  We specialise in doing installations that require minimal to zero maintenance, because there is no point building beautiful climbing walls that are obsolete after less than 2 years.  Our aim is to install zero maintenance equipment that gets more children climbing and is still in use after 10 years.
We carefully test all new materials and look at it's durability, sustainability and versatility. The traverse walls on masonry we did 15 years ago are still in use today.   If buy a climbing wall or traverse wall from Mock Rock you can guarantee there are no shortcuts. In addition our mural work's success has been down to the lengths we go to prepare and stabilise the surface. 99% of our jobs are completed on time and 100% of the time within the set budget.

Traverse wall with bespoke mural completed at Beechwood Primary School in Crewe We completed this traverse wall with bespoke mural on time and the school were 'Amazed' by the finished work. The process is simple, give us a design idea, we produce a design, with options to changes to meet the clients needs. When the design is accepted we book a day to begin preparing and painting the wall. We have a team of the UK's leading spray paint artists who are used to working in all weather to produce incredible results. They may be working on one of our school murals one week and the next an advert for a multinational brand high up on the side of a skyscraper in central London! Murals are a great way to inspire children and the climbing element just adds to this further. We have often heard 'I can't wait to get back to school on Monday!' Our passion is introducing safe climbing to schools and inspiring children to be creative. Schools are busy places and we work hard to ensure the installation is carried out with minimal inconvenience. Contact us today with your ideas ! For high traffic commercial playgrounds/ farm parks or secondary schools we offer an ultra real hand carved concrete type of bouldering wall. This type of structure is ideal for high traffic areas and also for places with difficult climates such as coastal towns with fierce weather. These are constructed with steel reinforcement and hand shaped on site, this means they are incredibly strong and unlikely to need any maintenance for many years (the projected lifespan is in excess of 50 years.) The estimated costs of this type of ultra realistic bouldering wall is £480 per square metre. An example price assuming the height of the bouldering wall is 2 metres and length 10 metres = £9000+VAT. The projected lifespan and low maintenance of this type of structure makes it an ideal option for commercial high footfall areas. It is a difficult structure to remove so not recommended for rented land/buildings unless expressly permitted by property owner.

Climbing is more than just people dangling from ropes in precarious situations. Climbing can be introduced into a school by installing a traverse wall, with climbing holds no higher off the ground than 30cm (so they are no more elevated than being on a step.) With the stronghold of computer games tempting children to stay indoors and be more sedentary, we need to fight back with outdoor sports that challenge and build physical and mental strength. There may be the odd scraped knee and calloused hands but it's far riskier to be stuck in front of a screen for hours on end. Climbing has always been a metaphor for achievement, to scale great heights and push boundaries. We don't build traverse walls in schools expecting them all to conquer Everest, but we are passionate about the benefits of fitness and the introduction of a safe climbing facility ensures there is an sport to try in school. It is not always the strongest or biggest that excel at climbing, but those who are determined and innovative. We have a climbing solution for every school, from a direct to brick traverse wall or a free standing structure.
